Forms

Official HMRC and Companies House forms. Each link opens GOV.UK — we do not host copies. Most company filings are now completed online.

How these links are meant to be used

If you came here because a letter told you to file a form, write to us with the letter. Filing the wrong thing, or filing it twice, is worse than asking first.

They open on GOV.UK

Every link on this page opens the current form on GOV.UK. We do not host copies, because a hosted copy goes stale the moment HMRC or Companies House reissues it. If you already have an accountant, most of these are filed by that firm rather than by you. The 64-8 is the form that authorises us to talk to HMRC on your behalf, and we send it as part of a new engagement.

VAT registration

VAT1 is the registration application. Registration is compulsory once taxable turnover exceeds £90,000 in a rolling 12-month period (the threshold from 1 April 2024). Voluntary registration is a separate decision and depends on whether you can recover input VAT. We will tell you which of those you are looking at before anyone files VAT1.

Company filings

IN01, AD01, confirmation statements and director changes are completed online at Companies House in almost every case. The paper forms remain listed because GOV.UK still publishes them, and because a handful of filings still have a paper route. If we are your agent we do those online; you do not need to print them.

Payroll and LLPs

Payroll forms appear when someone starts, when a company car is provided, or at the year-end for benefits. They sit with the monthly payroll rather than with the accounts. LLP forms are the limited-liability partnership equivalents of the company set; the names look similar (LL IN01, LL AP01) and they go to Companies House, not HMRC.
